Description:
The Systems Engineering group engages in the design and development of complex medical diagnostic instrumentation in collaboration with a cross functional development team.
The successful candidate will possess a track record of leading system design, integration, and test activities.
The candidate will need to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary product development environment, efficiently balancing competing technology demands to arrive at an appropriate and sustainable system architecture.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in electro-mechanical system design, and familiar with the demands of requirements management in complex scientific instrument development.
Experience in development of medical products or analytical instrumentation would be a plus.
Responsibilities:
Develop system requirements and architecture from defined user needs.
Develop operating sequences controlling the behavior of complex electromechanical instruments.
Analyze system performance data and develop primary and secondary algorithms for calculating reportable results from raw readings.
Conduct risk analysis from both the top-down and bottom-up perspectives.
Perform root cause analysis on a variety of system performance issues; develop and implement corrective action.
Support existing products by responding to issues arising from internal testing or field use of the systems.
Education:
Bachelors in Physical Science or Engineering (chemistry, physics, electrical engineering or biomedical engineering preferred)
Experience:
Total experience 7-10 years.
At least 5 years leading small development teams for electromechanical instrument systems (biomedical or chemical analysis systems preferred, but not required)
The candidate must be able to:

Program in support of data analysis using Visual Basic, MatLab, or another data analysis programming language.

Able to lead and influence small focused development or problem-solving teams.
Exhibit a bias toward action, balanced by strong analytical decision-making skills.
